Oregon allows for women in our community to change their names before they have sex reassignment surgery.

A reader writes in November 2003:

I read your request for information on legal Name Change and noticed that you did not have any for Oregon. I am sending the information to you. The documents were formated for one county, but the heading can be changed to what ever county the person lives in. Also, they may obtain the documents from the clerk of the court in the county in which they live.
I am a paralegal here and live in the Portland, Oregon area. If you need any futher information let me know. I research and provide information on multiple levels of court systems.
