Current TV: Silent T Party

Parisa Vahdatinia notes:

I’d like to share with you a video we just posted on Current.com that recounts the story of Kalil Cohen’s experience of being transgender in the LGBT community of LA and active involvement with ENDA. The video discusses the drawbacks of ENDA and lifestyle choices that Kalil must make in order to be accepted into the workplace.

We recently posted this video on Current.com that brings a reality to the emotions and experience of being at City Hall in San Francisco minutes before the Supreme Court gay marriage ruling. The video follows Molly McKay, executive director of Marriage Equality California, and Pam Brown, policy director for Marriage Equality USA, as they make their way to the steps of City Hall at 9:40 AM last Thursday. Anxious, nervous, determined, scared, excited, they share with us their sentiments and dedication to driving marriage equality for California, as they patiently wait for the court’s decision. This video brings a perspective that no news briefing could ever capture: the experience of being a part of California’s equal rights history.

I hope you enjoy,
