American Psychology Assocation’s transphobic flack Kim Mills |
|
In the wake of the recent American Psychology Association resolution on transgender issues, legal historian Katrina Rose has an excellent profile of Kim Mills, American Psychology Association’s associate executive director of public and member communications.
Katrina notes that Mills was the first education director for the Human Rights Campaign, which threw trans people under the bus during the ENDA push last year. Katrina adds:
Now, let’s look at the opening line of an article that Mills authored in 1994 (specifically, as it appeared in the Feb. 14, 1994, edition of the Wisconsin State Journal) whilst working for the Associated Press:
“The gay community has long allowed other sexual outcasts to ride its coattails, from transvestites and transsexuals to bisexuals and leather fetishists. But it is now trying to distance itself from pedophiles.”
Scary.
