Internet fakes: boy2woman.com
As part of this site's ongoing work exposing fake
internet transsexuals like the now defunct Changez
Le Monde and the so-called "transkids"
movement, this page exposes a long-running pay site hoax called boy2woman.com shut down in 2006 after being exposed as a hoax.
New York-based web designer Kevin Garvey of 664design.com and harderfasterrocks.com maintained a fake transsexual website called boy2woman.com until late 2006. The site allegedly featured his girlfriend "Nancy" and sold subscriptions to a pornographic members-only area.
Google lists public phonebook results for 914-969-6661 as K Garvey, 380 Mclean Ave, Yonkers, NY 10705
Google lists public phonebook results for 212-496-7321, another number associated with his address, as Lainey R Brophy, 5 W 91st St, New York, NY 10024. Note that apartment 2H is listed as Garvey’s address on his published resume.
In 2006, Garvey claimed after taking the site down that "the person referred to as 'Nancy' on the boy2woman website died of complications from lyphoma on October 11."
The following came in on March 15, 2007:
To Whom It May Concern,
I am asking kindly to remove and all references to boy2woman.com from TSRoadmap.com. subject re: Removal of Content or Legal Action
This now my second letter to you demanding removal of any and all personal and business information relating to Kevin Garvey.
The site now contains references to my wife and her personal phone number. This is unacceptable. I don't care to debate any issues of reproducing content etc. I admit most of the content on boy2woman.com was faked (for reasons only known to me) and the purpose of the site had good intentions at the beginning but got corrupted along the way.
But now this has just fallen into the realm of slander and you can now hurt chances of employment for myself and my wife. I cannot allow that.
I no longer own the domain boy2woman.com. It expired at the end of last year. I am not in any business relating to transgenderism so my association with it in Google searches is unacceptable. If this is not removed whomever buys "boy2oman.com" will then be also associated with all of this and they may not be so forgiving in terms of legal action.
This has gone on long enough and I now must take legal action against your hosting company www.liquidweb.com to get this removed if you do not do so voluntarily ASAP.
Please reply with your answer. Our legal counsel will file papers with liquidweb.com if it is not removed immediately.
This information will remain up as a matter of public interest and is fair comment. Images constitute fair use to demonstrate the sort of hoax Garvey was perpetrating.
The information below was researched and reported by a reader and is maintained here for historical purposes. This hoax was first brought to my attention in 2000, when a reader told me
her voice sample had been stolen from tsvoice.com and placed on the boy2woman.com
site. In 2005, an alert reader put up an extensive page analyzing this hoax:
http://www.geocities.com/boy2womanhoax/ (mirror on this site)
Several images of "Nancy" were lifted from the site of a site owner
I know through my online networking:

fakery can contact me, and I will pass the information
